The Innovation Hub Exhibition, Sandton

We are proud that Kusile Labs & Technology was invited to The Innoationhub Exhibition in August 2013 to take part in the innovation inventions competition which brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs who competed for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prices. This event was held at the IDC grounds in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Our School Mobile Science lab was in the Open Category where the completion was fierce due the openness of the category. Many inventions and innovations were in this category.

The panel of judges that included professionals from various disciplines in the commercial, corporate and government sectors would score each innovation based on the following factors:

  • Originality
  • The stage of the product development
  • The design of the product
  • Its usage and impact on the society
  • Its chance of industrialisation and commercialisation
  • Its impact on the sustainable development of the communities where it is intended to be used and other factors

Kusile Labs & Technology’s School Mobile Lab was voted the second best product in the Exhibition. We are very proud to have impacted on the judges and this is proof that our School Mobile Lab is an ideal product that should be at all the schools for the benefit of our learners.

The Innovation Hub Exhibition, Sandton

Kusile Lab & Technology is proud to announce that, subsequent to our exhibition of our School Mobile Science Lab at The Innnovationhub in Sandton, August 2013, our company has since been approved to enter into a 3 year Maxum Incubator Programme in Pretoria.

We will be taking up premises at Maxum Incubator facilities from the 6th of January 2014.

What does this mean for our School Mobile Lab?

It means that the lab is original and its design is superb and fits the usage to which it is intended. It means are lab is commercially viable and can impact the industry as well as the communities where it will be used.

This is the product that must be at every school. The Minister has promulgated the Minimum Norms and Standards for School Infrastructure (MNSSI) and one of those norms is that, every school must have a laboratory. With more than 22 schools in South Africa without a science, it will be a nightmare for the minister to build these at an average cost of R1.5m each.

Now enter our School Mobile Lab. An ideal solution where there is a great need.
